About Us

After hundreds of hours on the tennis court, the makers of Racquet Weight saw an amazing amount of lost efficiency and unnecessary injury. Sport science concludes that the right amount resistance while warming up can dramatically increase power, increase flexibility and prevent injury. Many popular sports like baseball and golf have weighted products to help athletes during their pre-game/practice routine, but there was a gap in the tennis market. Out of that void, the Racquet Weight was born.

The Racquet Weight is made out of a highly durable neoprene material that will stretch just enough to securely wrap around any standard racquet while providing enough cushion to protect your racquet from damage. Inside each Racquet Weight is carefully weighted “soft iron”. This evenly distributed weight feels like a heavy sponge providing just enough weight to help you stretch and warm up.

Stretches

Tricep Stretch

Attach Racquet Weight© to your racquet. With your left arm at your side, hold your tennis racquet in the right hand, and raise it over your head, dropping your wrist behind your head so the racquet head points toward the floor (as pictured). Feel the stretch in the triceps muscle, and hold for 20 seconds. Switch hands, and repeat two times for a total of three sets per side.

Triceps Stretch Enhanced:

Hold racquet in the right hand – behind the back – as in the first stretch, but bring left hand up and grab on to the racquet head (as pictured). Gently pull down to enhance the stretch in the triceps, holding for 20 seconds. Switch sides and repeat two times for a total of three sets per side.

Shoulder Stretch:

Hold racquet in the right hand, bringing it behind the back with the racquet head pointing upward. Grab onto the racquet head (as pictured) with the left hand, and gently pull up to stretch the shoulder muscle. Hold for 20 seconds and switch sides. Repeat two more times for a total of three sets per side.

Two-Sided Twist:

Put racquet behind neck (with Racquet Weight© as a cushion and racquet head parallel to the ground), and hold with both hands – the left on the end of the racquet head and the right holding the handle (as pictured). Slowly twist to one side, hold for five seconds, and twist to the other side, holding for five seconds. Do this eight times – then switch hands to reverse the direction of the racquet for eight more two-sided twists.

Instructions

To attach the Racquet Weight©

  • Open up the Racquet Weight© so the Velcro ® is facing you and lay it down on a flat surface.
  • Place your racquet on the Racquet Weight© where your racquet handle meets the racquet head. This triangle shaped section should match the dimensions of the Racquet Weight©.
  • Fold the Racquet Weight© over on itself making sure the Velcro is securely fastened.
  • If the Racquet Weight© does not fit snuggly, please do not use the Racquet Weight©.
